I have been involved in Child Care for more years than I like to count. I first began as a 15 year old and now that I’m closer to 60 than 50 I am still working daily to care for and enhance the lives of young children.
I have worked in centers all over Perth and before that in the U.K. I have a Diploma of Children Services and an NNEB diploma in Nursery Nursing. Which I gained working night school while raising my son as a single parent, so I have a lot of empathy for parents especially when they are doing it tough.
I see one of my main roles here at Montessori Gardens as being that friendly face who can listen, offer advice when asked, and try and help parents and staff to work things out. There’s not much I haven’t encountered over the years and improving the lives of young families is something I work very hard at.
I was working at the center before Naomi took it over and stayed on at Montessori Gardens as it converted from mainstream to Montessori. At the time I had heard almost nothing about Montessori and knew even less. I have since become a firm believer in the philosophy and only wish I could have found it earlier in my career. My role here as second in charge means I am involved with all areas of the centre and it allows me to stay very hands, on which I love.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
